Filed Under (Cash Advance Loans) by MoneyWeekly on 10-05-2007

If you are having a particularly bad month and you have no money at all left whatsoever, you may be considering getting a cash advance loan. However, there are things which you need to think about before applying for one and one of those things is whether it is truly the right decision for you. So just how do you decide when to get an emergency cash advance loan and when to just try and carry on regardless?

Knowing When to Get That Loan

There is more to getting an emergency cash advance loan than simply just applying for one. If you do not know what you are getting yourself into there could be serious consequences to follow including getting yourself deeper into debt.

Cash advance loans are advertised to us far too easily and they give us the impression that no matter what money worries we have during the month, they can be resolved with an emergency cash advance loan. The tempting offer of easy, quick cash fools us into a false sense of security. This means that a lot of the time many people do not even bother to read the terms and conditions to see what they are letting themselves in for. So, before you agree to anything you really should read everything concerning the loan agreement otherwise you could end up paying back a lot more than you bargained for!

If you have read the terms and conditions and you can comfortably afford the repayment of the loan at the end of the month, then there is no real reason why you shouldn’t get an emergency cash advance loan. They come in extremely handy if an emergency has come up and they can help you out of a sticky situation. However, even if you can afford it, it is sometimes a lot cheaper to see if you can find another way out.

If you are in debt and the monthly shortfall means that you will fall behind on a debt repayment, why not contact your lenders? Explain the situation to them and usually you will find that they are quite reasonable and they will set up a repayment plan to suit the missed payment. This will give you a little financial freedom for that month and you will be able to continue on as normal once you do get paid again.

Obviously if the problem is something such as your car has broken down, you are going to need extra money and you may think there is no alternative to a cash advance loan. However, it could even be cheaper using a credit card to help as they tend to have lower interest rates than many cash advance loans.

Overall if you can comfortably afford a cash advance loan there is no reason for you not to get one. However, wouldn’t you rather save money and try and find an alternative way to getting the money that you need?
